Nearly 1,700 votes were cast in the seven-contender contest, and Shanahan's racked up 38 percent of the votes. Cellar Door finished in second place, with 28 percent of the votes.
Owners of the 10-year-old, family-owned Shanahan's pride themselves on a reputation of "the great neighborhood gathering place."
"We’re all about family, good friends, new friends, community and good times! You can call us the Irish 'Cheers,'" according to its website.
Shanahan's offers locations in Woodridge and Downers Grove.
