District 99 Candidate Forum Set for Thursday

The League of Women Voters of Downers Grove, Woodridge and Lisle will host the forum at 7 p.m. Thursday at Downers Grove Village Hall.

Editor's Note: District 99 candidate Henry Jakobsze announced Wednesday afternoon that he is withdrawing his name from the April 9 election ballot.

The League of Women Voters of Downers Grove, Woodridge and Lisle will host a forum Thursday for candidates in the Community High School District 99 school board race.

The forum will be held at 7 p.m. at Village Hall, 801 Burlington Ave. It was originally scheduled for Feb. 26, but was canceled due to heavy snow.

Five candidates are running for four open seats on the District 99 school board—incumbents Debbie Boyle, Terry Pavesich and Julia Beckman, and newcomers Rick Pavinato and Martin Gorski.

The consolidated election will be held April 9.

The League of Women Voters will also host a forum for Downers Grove village council candidates at 7 p.m. March 26 at Village Hall.

In the village council race, six candidates are running for three open seats—incumbents Bob Barnett and Marilyn Schnell, and newcomers Don Jankowski, David Olsen, Greg Hosé and Susan Walaszek.
