The Congressional Art Competition is a nationwide contest that provides an opportunity for Members of Congress to showcase the artistic talents of high school students. Since it was launched in 1982, more than 690,000 young artists have participated.

“This year, we received an amazing collection of artwork including photography, watercolor, oil paint, woodcut print, and more,” said Biggert in the release.

“With 40 entries from seven area high schools, this year’s contest showcased a wide array of our community’s most talented students. Today’s event is an opportunity to commend these students for their hard work and encourage them to continue to use and sharpen their artistic skills.”
