Martin Gorski is one of six candidates running for the Community High School District 99 Board of Education in the 2013 election. Gorski, 68, is a retired financial institution examiner with 30 years experience in the banking industry. He attended the Illinois Institute of Technology, earning a bachelor's degree and an MBA. He lives in Darien with his wife, Moneta.

Education (degree and school): Bachelor of Science and MBA from the Illinois Institute of Technology; majored in Economics with minor in Math. Graduated with honors and awarded honorary membership in the school’s Sigma Iota Epsilon fraternity. 

Occupation: Examiner of financial institutions (retired). Currently runs a consulting firm.

Applicable experience qualifying you for the position: Managerial experience obtained during 30 years employed in regulating of banking industry. 

What is the primary reason you are running for this office?

To ensure that the system is (and will continue to be) well managed, both financially and operationally. 

What will be your single most important priority if you get elected?

Review the possibility of having an Internal Auditing department within the district. Internal Auditors are required in certain states (NY law 2005 Chapter 263 § 2116-b and c), and I have seen that they are highly efficient within an organization when properly operated. 

What sets you apart from the other candidates? 

Financial and management background and experience. 

How long have you lived in your community and/or been active in local issues? 

Thirteen years. 

What's your favorite thing about Community High School District 99? 

High level of academic achievements; we need to continue a high level of education.

Honestly, I couldn't understand why they spent so much money for a parking lot in the first place???

The problem is the Dept of Agriculture's standards are aimed at farm animals. The standards are wayRead More too low for pet breeding but the USDA has not yet differentiated housepets. She is giving the standard boilerplate answer all puppy mill breeders give. The fact that she passed inspections doesn't mean a thing. Everyone knows the vet she has enlisted is a puppy mill breeder himself so that is an empty argument too. Blah, blah, blah - the same old answers. You've got a good smoke & mirrors show going Madam, but the public is starting to catch on.....
