Civics Education: Present and Future - Fall Kickoff Meeting of the League of Women Voters of DG, Woodride and Lisle

Did you know civics education is only taught as a unit within the required U.S. History course in high school?  The League of Women Voters and many other civic and educational organizations believe this is not enough to prepare young people to participate in our democracy.  Dr. Darlene Ruscitti, Regional Superintendent of DuPage County, will speak about the present and future of civics education in Illinois.  Discussion with local school administrators, educators and League members will take place.  This event is free and open to the public.
