Marching Mustangs to Unfurl Flag, Take the Field at Sugar Bowl

Tune in to ESPN Jan. 2 at 6:30 p.m., and catch your Downers Grove South Marching Mustangs shining before a national audience.

Get your Downers Grove South gear on, folks, and get ready to show your support for your Marching Mustangs as they take the field at the 2014 Sugar Bowl.

The Marching Mustangs are in Louisiana, where they'll perform in the halftime show with 14 other marching ensembles.  As part of the experience, they participated in a field show competition (with the others) and were named Grand Champions, sweeping every category.

That performance earned them an extra honor. The Marching Mustangs will unfurl and hold the large field flag for the national anthem as part of the pre-game ceremony. Members of The Marching Mustangs will be in full uniform as they represent the South High community in this way.
