Junior Woman’s Club honors three Downers Grove teachers with Outstanding Teacher Awards
The Downers Grove Junior Woman’s Club honored Downers Grove teachers with Outstanding Teacher awards during the Club’s annual education awards ceremony March 20th.

The awards are open to teachers at all public and private schools within Downers Grove. This year’s winners were 5th grade teacher Cheryl Lyons, 4th grade teacher Randi Streng, and Middle School band teacher David Balika.
Cheryl Lyons was nominated by Zoe Strauch. Lyons has been teaching at Whittier for 6 years, and prior to that taught for 5 years at LaGrange Park.

Randi Streng was nominated by Eva Bednard. Streng has been teaching at Pierce Downer for 2 years, and prior to that taught at for 3 years.
David Balika was nominated by Bridget Moroney, Brian Moroney, Billy Moroney, and Ashly Pirl.
