St. Mary of Gostyn Students To Help Raise Funds for Catholic Schools

On Oct. 18, students, their families and school personnel will walk around their schools to draw attention to the "Move Your Feet to Give a Child a Seat" campaign.

St. Mary of Gostyn School students will join other area Catholic schools and participate in "Move Your Feet to Give a Child a Seat,” an initiative of the Catholic Education Foundation, at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18.

The goal is to draw attention to the importance of Catholic education and the need to fill the nearly 4000 empty seats throughout the Diocese’s schools.

The Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) was founded in 1996. CEF is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable corporation dedicated to the advancement of Catholic education in the Diocese of Joliet and its seven counties, including DuPage, Ford, Grundy, Iroquois, Kanakee, Kendall and Will. The Foundation’s mission is to raise resources to allow children in need to attend elementary and secondary Catholic schools throughout the Diocese of Joliet.

Students can bring a donation of $2 to be out of uniform at school on Friday. All proceeds will go directly to CEF. These much needed funds will be used to help support need-based scholarship funding throughout the Diocese.
