Sandack says response to food and clothing drive is ‘positive,’ encourages more donations
Sen. Sandack encourages residents to donate food and clothing items to Passages Hospice in Lisle.
LISLE, IL – State Senator Ron Sandack (R-Downers Grove) said the response to the clothing and food drive at Passages Hospice in Lisle has been positive, but reminded residents that the drive continues throughout the end of the month.
“The response so far has been really great,” Sen. Sandack said. “I encourage those who haven’t yet cleaned out their closet or picked up a few extra items on their trip to the grocery store to do so and drop it by Passages Hospice so we’re able to donate these items to people in need.”
Sen. Sandack has partnered with Passages Hospice to promote the food and clothing drive that is taking place throughout the month of November. The non-perishable food and winter clothing collected will be donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, the Northern Illinois Food Bank and Goodwill of Naperville.
“With the upcoming cold winter months, it’s important that as a community, we help where we can for those who are in need,” Sen. Sandack said. “I’m pleased to be able to partner with Passages Hospice in order to promote this food and clothing drive for those throughout our communities.”
Sen. Sandack said the most-needed food items are boxed casseroles, instant potato and rice dishes, hearty soups, and canned vegetables and fruits. Gently used winter clothing, coats, hats and gloves are also needed. Items can be dropped off at the Passages Hospice office located at 515 Warrenville Road in Lisle.
