Downers Grove North Linebacker Commits to Ball State University

Vontae Diggs joins one of the highest-ranked recruiting classes in the MAC conference.

Downers Grove North outside linebacker Vontae Diggs verbally committed to Ball State University, making him the most highly rated recruit in the 2014 class, according to 247sports.com.

The versatile, 6-foot-4, 200-pound Diggs played at inside linebacker, outside linebacker and defensive end as a senior, in addition to quarterback and receiver on offense. The DGN senior comes in as the No. 35 recruit in the state, and in the top 90 nationally, according to the site. He joins a recruiting class of 18. Ball State touts the No. 3-ranked recruiting class in the MAC conference.

He had previously verbally committed to Toledo in June, but later revoked that. He also has offers from Western Michigan University and Eastern Illinois University.
