Downers Grove South Girls Cross Country Finishes 9th in State
Downers Grove South Mustangs put in a strong showing at IHSA state finals Nov. 9 in Peoria.
Downers Grove South girls cross country team conquered the state final course, finishing in 1:31:12—and grabbing a ninth place finish overall.
Amanda Thate and Haley Albers finished 34th and 41st, respectively, to lead the Mustangs on the day.
Teammates Amanda Thate, Haley Albers, Meaghan Bosman, Abby Kargol, Michaela Hackbarth, Jill Boyle, Meredith Robinson handled the fairly flat, 3-mile course in a speedy average time of 18:14.30, at Detweiller Park near Peoria.
