4th of July Fireworks Show to go on as Planned

Village is monitoring weather conditions, but as of now, there's nothing to cause cancellation.

For now, the village's planned display in conjunction with the Village of Woodridge is set to go off according to plan.

Why wouldn't it, you ask? Some communities, such as Plainfield, have canceled its 4th of July fireworks over concerns that .

Downers Grove communications director Doug Kozlowski said the village is monitoring the situation and will make changes as need be, but as of now, it's all systems go.

“The fireworks show is scheduled to go on as planned,” he said. “ are monitoring conditions and if anything changes, we would definitely make those decisions as the day draws near.”
