Three Injured in Single-Car Crash on Main Street

The accident shut down Main Street in Downers Grove for several hours Tuesday afternoon.

Three men were injured in a single-car crash on Main Street in Downers Grove on Tuesday.

Police responded around 3:20 p.m. to the crash, which occurred on northbound Main Street near Claremont Drive, according to Downers Grove Police Lt. Mike Willison.

A single car containing three "20-something men" struck a utility pole and rolled several times before coming to a stop, Willison said.

All three men were sent to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove with unspecified injuries.

The accident forced police to shut down southbound Main Street between Claremont and Valley View drives and northbound Lemont Road between 75th Street and Valley View Drive.

Lanes remained shut down as of 7:30 p.m., according to witnesses.
