Get Your Holiday Film Fix This Week at the Tivoli

Tickets are $5 per person and available at the Tivoli Theatre box office, 5021 Highland Ave., in downtown Downers Grove.

Tivoli Theatre is hosting its annual Holiday Film Festival by screening a variety of holiday movies this week.

Tickets are $5 per person and available at the Tivoli Theatre box office, 5021 Highland Ave., in downtown Downers Grove.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early to participate in a sing-a-long accompanied by Tivoli’s Wurlitzer Theatre pipe organ.

• "A Christmas Story" 
(1983): 7 and 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8
• "Love Actually" (2003): 7 and 9:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9.
 "Miracle on 34th Street" (1947): 7 and 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10
• "White Christmas" (1954): 1:30, 4, 7 and 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11
• "National Lampoon’s: Christmas Vacation" (1989): 7 and 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12

 Holiday Family Fun Night: The Downers Grove Public Library will host an evening of stories, songs, and craft activities for the entire family to enjoy at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1050 Curtiss St. Registration is required.
• Read to the Dogs: Kids can share a story with a doggy listener at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at the Downers Grove Public Library, 1050 Curtiss St. Schedule a 15 minute time slot by calling (630) 960-1200. No online registration.
"It's a Wonderful Life" Screening: Tivoli Theatre will present "It's A Wonderful Life" to benefit Sharing Connections Furniture Bank. The show will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 and Sunday, Dec. 15, 5021 Highland Ave. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Tivoli Theatre box office. Proceeds support the Sharing Connections Furniture Bank. This holiday event includes entertainment on the Wurlitzer pipe organ before each show.
• Historical Society Ornament Sale: The Historical Society will be selling its annual ornaments, featuring the library circa 1920, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at the Downers Grove Public Library, 1050 Curtiss St. The $15 ornaments can be purchased at a table in the north lobby.
