Cantores Community Choir to Perform 'Sounds of the Season' Holiday Concert

A freewill offering will be taken to benefit the Cantores Community Choir Scholarship Fund.

The Cantores Community Choir's 'Sounds of the Season' holiday concert will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at First United Methodist Church in Downers Grove, 1032 Maple Ave.

The free concert will feature a range of musical styles and genres. Special guests will include the Downers Grove South High School Madrigals and the Montini Catholic High School Chamber Choir from Lombard. A freewill offering will be taken to benefit the Cantores Community Choir Scholarship Fund.

 "It's a Wonderful Life" Screening: Tivoli Theatre will present "It's A Wonderful Life" to benefit Sharing Connections Furniture Bank. The show will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 and Sunday, Dec. 15, 5021 Highland Ave. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Tivoli Theatre box office. Proceeds support the Sharing Connections Furniture Bank. This holiday event includes entertainment on the Wurlitzer pipe organ before each show.
• Historical Society Ornament Sale: The Historical Society will be selling its annual ornaments, featuring the library circa 1920, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at the Downers Grove Public Library, 1050 Curtiss St. The $15 ornaments can be purchased at a table in the north lobby.
• Visit With Santa: Kids can visit with Santa from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 and Sunday, Dec. 15, at the Gingerbread House at Main and Curtiss streets in Downers Grove. The visits are free. Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras.
