Hurry and Sign Up for a Chance to Build a Gingerbread House
The Gingerbread House Party will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at SWA Architects, 911 Rogers St., Downers Grove. There is no cost.
Kids and families are invited to play architect for a day by creating gingerbread houses.
The Gingerbread House Party will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at SWA Architects, 911 Rogers St., Downers Grove. There is no cost. All materials to design, build, and decorate the gingerbread house will be provided along with treats, candy and beverages.
Photos of each gingerbread house will be posted in the office during the holiday season but kids can get to take their houses with them. Parents must remain with their children at all times. There are prizes for all entries, along with the opportunity to win a Toy's R Us gift card. Participants will leave with a treat bag.
Judging for grand prize(s) will begin at 3 p.m. Winners will be contacted after the event by the method of their choosing and prizes can be mailed out or available for pick-up the following week.
Space may become limited so reserving a time slot is recommended.

Santa will even be there for a visit. • Visits With Santa: Kids can visit with Santa from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Gingerbread House at Main and Curtiss streets in Downers Grove. The visits are free. Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras. Santa will also be available for visits and photos from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at Baird & Warner, 724 Ogden Ave., Downers Grove.
