Downers Grove Citibank Robbed by Man in Construction Helmet

Police are searching for a man wearing an orange T-shirt, jeans and an orange construction helmet, who allegedly robbed Citibank, 5134 Main St., around 12:08 p.m. Wednesday.

Downers Grove police are searching for a man who robbed a downtown Downers Grove bank Wednesday afternoon. Citibank, 5134 Main St., was robbed around 12:08 p.m., according to Downers Grove police. No one was injured during the incident. The suspect, a white man between 45 and 50 years old, fled on foot before police arrived on scene, according to Downers Grove Police Sgt. Harry Andler. The man was described as being 5-foot-10 with a short, white "five-o'clock shadow beard," police said. He was last seen wearing an orange construction type helmet, orange shirt, jeans and sunglasses. Police are continuing to search the area for the man. The investigation is being conducted in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The public …

Police: Downers Grove Bank Robbery Suspect Still at Large

Police are still searching for a white man wearing a black ski mask, black hooded sweatshirt and jeans, who allegedly robbed United Central Bank at gunpoint Jan. 3.

The masked man who robbed a Downers Grove bank at gunpoint earlier this month is still at large, according to police. Downers Grove Police Sgt. Harry Andler said police are still investigating the Jan. 3 armed robbery at United Central Bank, 1303 Ogden Ave. As of Thursday afternoon, there were no new developments to report. Police said the bank was robbed around 11:09 a.m. by a man wearing a black ski mask and carrying a gun. No one was injured during the incident. The man left southbound on foot before police arrived on scene. The suspect is a white man in a black ski mask, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans, Andler said. United Central Bank in Downers Grove Robbed by Masked Gunman

Police are still searching for a white man wearing a black ski mask, black hooded sweatshirt and jeans, who allegedly robbed the bank at gunpoint around 11:09 a.m. Thursday.

A Downers Grove bank was robbed at gunpoint Thursday morning by a man wearing a mask, authorities said. United Central Bank, 1303 Ogden Ave., was robbed around 11:09 a.m., according to Downers Grove police. No one was injured during the incident. The man left southbound on foot before police arrived on scene, according to Downers Grove Police Sgt. Harry Andler. The suspect is a white man in a black ski mask, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans, Andler said. Downers Grove police did not immediately release details on how much money was stolen during the incident. The incident prompted "soft lockdowns" at Downers Grove North High School and Herrick Middle School shorty after 11:30 a.m., police said. Although school was not in session…

Lombard Man Suspected in Three Bank Robberies is Behind Bars

FBI Agents allege that Martin Crossley robbed banks in Des Plaines, Buffalo Grove and Oak Brook.

A Lombard man suspected of committing three Chicago-area bank robberies was arrested Monday, Dec. 10, the FBI announced Wednesday. Martin Crossley, 37, was taken into custody without incident Monday afternoon at a relative’s home in Lombard. He was charged with one count of felony bank robbery in connection with the Nov. 30 robbery of the First Merit Bank branch, 678 Lee Street in Des Plaines. According to the complaint, Crossley entered First Merit Bank and waited in line as a teller assisted another customer with a number of transactions.  The complaint states that the teller interrupted those transactions to assist Crossley, who then stepped away and removed a plastic liner from a trash can in the bank’s lobby.  Crossley then allegedly …
