Jamba Juice, 7-Eleven, Nail Bar Offering Spring Specials: DuPage Biz Briefs

Through May, Jamba Juice and 7-Eleven have special deals for customers. Nail Bar in Elmhurst is offering specials during the spring and summer.

A two-day job fair will be held April 5 and 6 at Chuck’s Southern Comforts Café location in Darien. The job fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days at the restaurant, 8025 S. Cass Ave., Darien. The restaurant is looking to fill a number of positions. Find out what positions it is hiring for. At its last hiring fair, it had 115 job applicants attend. Through May 17, 7-Eleven is offering customers a special $2 breakfast deal. Off Successful 2012, Downtown Farmers Market to Continue

The market wil run on Saturday mornings from mid-May through mid-October; last year was reportedly the market's most successful since ints 1991 inception.

Coming off of its most successful year since being founded in 1991, the Downtown Downers Grove Market will return to its spot adjacent to the Main Street train station for 23 Saturday mornings in 2013, the Chicago Tribune reports. According to the paper, during its best weeks the market brings in more than 60 vendors and over 3,000 shoppers; with revenue of about $37,000, 2012 was the market's most successful year ever, even though the odd weather and temperature fluctuations caused some trouble.  "Our farm flower vendor started seven weeks late and left four weeks early," the paper quotes a YMCA annual report saying. "One of our full-time vegetable vendors who is always dependable, ran out of produce and missed the last two markets." The …

Comcast Doubling Speed for Chicago-Area Customers

Customers who get the company’s Blast!, Extreme 50 and Performance plans will enjoy faster Internet, downloads.

Comcast announced some good news for many of its customers in Chicagoland Tuesday, saying it will increase the speeds of two of its most popular XFINITY Internet speed plans, Blast! and Extreme 50, in the greater Chicago region next month for no additional cost. Customers will enjoy more than twice as fast Internet speeds on multiple devices, allowing them to surf, chat, stream HD movies and TV shows, or game online with double the speed, according to a press release from the company. A rep for Comcast said speed will increase for the Blast! And Extreme 50 plans in mid- to late March. Horse Meat Found in IKEA Meatballs, American Customers Concerned

The meatballs containing horse meat were not sold in the Schaumburg or Bolingbrook locations, the Associated Press reports.

Some IKEA Restaurant customers got more than they bargained for in the company's trademark Swedish Meatballs, Reuters reports. The world’s leading furniture retailer, which also has restaurants in each store, has stopped selling its Swedish meatballs in 13 European countries after tests found horse meat in the food labeled as beef and pork, the Associated Press reports. The horse meat-laden meatballs were on sale in the Czech Republic, Britain, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Slovakia, Hungary, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Cyprus and Ireland. Goodwill to Celebrate Grand Openings in Downers Grove, Lombard

The Downers Grove retail and donation center, located at 110 Ogden Ave., will host a grand opening weekend Feb. 14-17.

Goodwill Industries of Metropolitan Chicago will open two new retail and donation centers next month in Downers Grove and Lombard. Both stores have set their grand opening weekends for Feb. 14-17, according to Goodwill officials. The 18,000-square-foot Downers Grove store will be located at 110 W. Ogden Ave., next to Office Depot in the Downers Grove Plaza Shopping Center. The Lombard Goodwill store will be located at 351 E. Roosevelt Road in a new, 19,000 square-foot facility.  In addition to being a retail and donation drop-off, the Lombard store will also have a Goodwill Workforce Connection Center, which offers free job search assistance. Goodwill to Open Retail Stores in Downers Grove, Lombard

Goodwill Industries of Metropolitan Chicago will open two new retail and donation centers in Downers Grove and Lombard in early 2013. The Downers Grove store will be located at 110 W. Ogden Ave., next to Office Depot in the Downers Grove Plaza Shopping Center, according to Cheryl Lightholder, spokesperson for Goodwill. The 18,000 square-foot store is tentatively scheduled to open in early February 2013, Lightholder said. The Lombard Goodwill store will be located at 351 E.
