The Village of Downers Grove and Creative Recycling will team up Saturday to host a free electronics recycling event. From 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers will be on hand at Village Hall, 801 Burlington Ave., to collect various electronic items that are banned from Illinois landfills. Accepted items include televisions, computers, laptops, monitors, printers, computer peripherals, VCR/DVD players, gaming systems and MP3 players. Early voting for the Nov. 6 general election ends Saturday at Downers Grove Village Hall, 801 Burlington Ave., and several other area locations. All voters registered in DuPage County may vote early at any of the 12 designated polling places, now through Nov. 3. Voters must bring a government-issued photo ID such as a passport, driver's license or military ID. Voting will be conducted on ATM-like touch screens, according to the DuPage County Election Commission. The League of Women Voters of Downers Grove/Woodridge/Lisle will host a candidate forum Tuesday for the DuPage County Board and Forest Preserve District candidates in County District 2. The forum will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Downers Grove Village Hall, 801 Burlington Ave. All candidates running for the DuPage County Board and Forest Preserve District in District 2 were invited.
