Herrick Middle School Brings Dr. Suess Stories to Life in 'Suessical Jr.'

Students will perform the musical "Suessical Jr." Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

Students from Herrick Middle School in Downers Grove will bring the stories of Dr. Seuss to life this week with performances of the musical "Seussical Jr." Performances will be held at the school, 4335 Middaugh Ave., at 7:30 p.m. both Thursday and Friday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $6 and available by calling Herrick at 630-719-5810. "Seussical Jr." is based on several Dr. Seuss stories, but the overall plot is borrowed from Horton Hears a Who!, focusing on Horton the Elephant's attempts to protect the people of Who-ville who live in a tiny speck of dust. The "Cat in the Hat" will serve as the show's host and emcee, school officials said.
