Downers Grove Park District Creates Closer Parking Spaces for Eco-Friendly Cars
The park district recently set aside five parking spaces at five different locations for energy-efficient vehicles.
Drivers of eco-friendly vehicles were rewarded earlier this year with better parking spots at several Downers Grove Park District facilities. In an effort to "reward" those who are driving alternative fuel vehicles, the park district designated five parking spaces somewhat close to facility entrances for at five different locations: Lyman Woods, 901 31st St.; McCollum Park, 6801 Main St.; Recreation Center, 4500 Belmont Road; Lincoln Center, 935 Maple Ave.; and the Administrative Office, 2455 Warrenville Road. Is this the best way you could figure out how to reward Eco Friendly? Everywhere there are insufficient spaces for the elderly and disabled, a portion of the population that is increasing exponentially with the baby boomers getting older.
