Downers Grove saw a significant increase in the number of homes sold during the month of march. The median home price rose slightly, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors.
The 39 homes sold in Downers Grove during March 2013 represented a 56 percent increase over March 2012, when 25 homes were sold, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). While the number of homes sold increased significantly, the median price of homes sold in March rose slightly in Downers Grove. The median price increased 2.6 percent to $274,000 from $267,000 in March 2012. The market for detached, single-family homes in suburbs throughout DuPage County experienced notable sales gains in March, MORe reported. MORe gets its statistics from Midwest Real Estate Data. Hinsdale had the biggest percentage drop in the number of homes sold, with -37.9 percent fewer homes sold year over year. That adds up to 18 homes sold …

The 28 detached, single-family homes sold in Downers Grove during January represented a 55.6 percent increase over January 2012, when 18 homes were sold, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). There were 31 homes sold in Downers Grove during December. While the number of home sales was up, the median price of homes sold in January was down. The median price fell 6.4 percent to $257,500 from $275,000 in January 2012. The market for detached, single-family homes in suburbs throughout DuPage County saw growth in January, MORe reported.
