Other Stormwater Projects on Tap

The new dual-purpose Washington Park is just the first of a handful of scheduled remediation projects.

With the Washington Park stormwater remediation project essentially complete, two other projects are next in line. These three projects, all coming on-line this year, serve as an example of what it takes to blunt the impact of stormwater problems. McCullom Park has the second largest stormwater project tucked into the northeast corner of the park. The installation, on the site of the former basketball courts (which have been moved to the front by Main Street), is nearly complete.  Like the Washington Park detention areas, this too will provide play surfaces for team sports. Cumnor Road and Eighth Street is a faster turn-around project that features a smaller detention area and storm sewer improvements. The area's four most flood-prone …
