The odds of winning the current $360 million Powerball prize may be 1 in 175 million, but that won't stop millions of players from scooping up tickets before Wednesday night's drawing. The estimated cash value of Wednesday's prize is $229 million. Saturday's numbers were 6, 13, 19, 23, 43 with a Powerball of 16. The next big winner could be drawn Saturday.
The big red Powerball rolled Wednesday night bringing the jackpot to $320 million for the Saturday, March 23 drawing. The winning numbers from Wednesday’s drawing were: 13 - 14 - 17 - 43 - 54 and the Powerball was 15. While no one won Wednesday night’s jackpot, over 68,000 Illinoisans won prizes ranging from $10,000 to $4, according to Illinois Lottery officials. By now, it's widely known that the winning Powerball tickets from Wednesday's $550 million drawing were sold in Arizona and Missouri. Those winning tickets matched all five numbers and the Powerball number. Each winner will receive about $293.7 million. However, right here in Illinois, two ticket holders matched all five numbers as well (not the Powerball number) and will receive $1 million each. Those tickets were sold at Casey's General Store in Fairmont and Barts Supermarket in Flanagan, according to the Illinois Lottery results page. The winning numbers are 5, 23, 16, 22, 29, 6. I know y’all love to label me as a liberal, but this fiscal conservative refuses to fall prey to what’s nothing more than a voluntary tax.
