Midwestern University Alumni Open New Dialysis Facility in Downers Grove

Drs. Anis Rauf and Mohammed Ahmed recently opened a 13-station U.S. Renal Care facility that takes a patient-centered approach to dialysis.

With the opening of their new U.S. Renal Care facility in Downers Grove, Drs. Anis Rauf and Mohammed Ahmed are hoping to bring a more personalized approach to dialysis treatment to the western suburbs. Rauf and Ahmed met 10 years ago while studying osteopathic medicine at Midwestern University in Downers Grove. Last month, they teamed up to open the second and third U.S. Renal Care facilities in Illinois—one at 1201 Butterfield Road in Downers Grove, near the border of Oak Brook, and the other at 396 Remington Boulevard in Bolingbrook. The facilities are custom-designed for patients undergoing renal dialysis, the process of filtering blood, the way kidneys normally do, using a machine. Tools and Equipment Taken at Midwestern University

Drinking in public charges and stolen bicycles reported in Downers Grove.

The following incidents and arrests were reported by the Downers Grove Police Department Purse taken from sandwich shop A woman reported her purse was taken from Subway, 1202 75th Street between 2:55 p.m. and 3:55 p.m. July 31. She said the purse was on the back of the chair while she was in the restaurant with her boyfriend and after they left and were in a parking lot across the street she realized she didn’t have her purse. She returned to Subway and the $40 purse containing a $200 camera, makeup valued at $40 and a debit card was gone.   Bike stolen from apartment lot A bicycle valued at $400 was taken from a parking lot bike rack in Prentiss Creek Apartments, 2025 Prentiss Drive between 7 a.m. and 7:50 a.m. The owner of the bikes said…

Midwestern University Breaks Ground on New Facility

Site will offer dental services at 50 percent rates.

Silver shovels gleamed in the sunlight as officials from the village of Downers Grove and Midwestern University broke ground on a new medical facility on Lacey Road Monday morning. The $120 million facility, which will open its doors in 2013, is expected to bring additional medical care and hundreds of jobs to the area. While it serves as a training ground for future medical practitioners, the facility will also serve to provide low-cost dental care to the community. University president Kathleen Goeppinger said the university will subsidize most of the dental work performed on the community.
