Here's the latest on business comings and goings in Downers Grove: Palermo's Pizza, 1332 W. 75th St., has permanently closed its Downers Grove location, according to a restaurant manager. The manager declined to comment on the restaurant's closing, but confirmed that customers were recently notified of the news via email. Palermo's maintains locations at 16644 S. Oak Park Ave. in Tinley Park, and 15832 S. Wolf Road in Orland Park. For more information, visit www.palermochicago.com. Wingstop, 2589 Ogden Ave., has permanently closed. My guess is that Palermo's decision to close its DG location was made in the last few weeks. They participated in the competiton at the libary in late June, probably in an attempt to gain name recognition. But, their location has not been good for prior businesses. I think they have been the 3rd or 4th restaurant in the last 10 years. It seems to me that the last two were Italian/pizza … more ›
