Police Blotter: Car Stolen from Arbor Circle, DUI on Butterfield

Downers Grove police reports, Aug. 7-12

SUNDAY, AUG. 12 Denise Marshall, 44, of the 100 block of Christine Way in Bolingbrook, was arrested around 11:05 a.m. at Toys R Us, 1540 75th St., Downers Grove police said. Store employees told police they saw Marshall put several items into her purse and leave the store without paying for them, according to the report. The items police said they found in Marshall’s purse include a Slinky, dominoes and two Leap Pads. The total value of the items was $65.13. Marshall was charged with retail theft and issued a no trespass warning regarding Toys R Us. SATURDAY, AUG. 11 A woman said her car was stolen from a friend’s numbered spot in a lot on the 4400 block of Arbor Circle sometime between 1:30 p.m. Aug. 10 and 5 p.m. Aug. 11, police said. …

Police Blotter: $4,500 in Copper Wire Stolen from Clinic, Car Burglaries

Downers Grove police reports, Aug. 2-7

TUESDAY, AUG. 7 Someone broke the driver’s side mirror on a car parked on the 400 block of Prairie Avenue between 5:40 a.m. and 8 a.m., Downers Grove police said. The mirror was worth about $250. SUNDAY, AUG. 5 James Langone, 57, of the 900 block of Addison, was arrested around 2:31 p.m. at Fry’s Electronics, 3300 Finley Rd., police said. Store security told police Langone took a Blu-ray movie out of its case and put it in his jeans’ back right pocket. Langone went into the bathroom, and when he came out police said he opened another Blu-ray case and put the disc into the same pocket. He left the store without paying for the movies before store security stopped him, police said. Officers said Langone repeatedly yelled, “What’s the problem…

Woodridge Man Carrying $300 in Cash Charged with Theft of Items Worth $39.96

Gloves, scarves, hat found in pockets, Downers Grove police report.

A Woodridge man carrying $300 in cash was charged with retail theft Jan. 5 after allegedly taking winter accessories valued at $39.96 from Marshalls, 1220 75th St. A loss prevention employee observed Petar V. Venkov, 68, of Woodridge allegedly take a hat, gloves and two scarves from shelves, remove the tags and place the items in his coat pockets, according to Downers Grove police reports. Venkov was stopped by the employee after he left the store without paying. The employee told police Venkov would not give his name and that he had no money or identification. When police arrived and spoke to Venkov, he stated he lived in Cicero and took the bus to Downers Grove. A search of Venkov revealed his identification with a Woodridge address, $…
