Downers Grove residents have only one more week to dispose of yard waste through the village's provider, Republic Services. The week of Dec. 10 is the last week Republic Services will accept yard waste until April 1, 2013, village officials said. Yard waste includes leaves, grass clippings, twigs, small branches and other garden refuse. Yard waste must be placed in one of the following: A sticker must be attached to each bag, can or bundle, officials said. Bags or cans may not weigh more than 50 pounds. Carts or cans must be clearly identified as yard waste. Mark any yard waste containers on the outside as "YARD WASTE," or contact the village for a decal.
