'Jeans and a Cute Top' Opens in Downtown Downers Grove
The women's clothing store opened quietly over the weekend at 5116 Main St.
Jeans and a Cute Top, Downers Grove's newest women's clothing store, opened quietly Saturday during the annual Downtown Downers Grove Fine Arts Festival. The boutique, located at 5116 Main St., is owned by Winfield resident Jill Card and her husband Richard. The Downers Grove shop is the store's third location since 2009, following the flagship Wheaton store and the St. Charles location that opened in 2010. "We worked like crazy to open by the weekend," Jill Card said. "Everything went really great. We had a ton of people come in the store." The store's name, Jeans and a Cute Top, dates back 20 years ago when Jill asked her eventual husband what she should wear on their first date. Sometimes, all you need is a little truth in advertising. Jeans and a Cute Top, a new women's clothing store expecting to open on Main Street in Downers Grove in September, tells you up-front what you should expect when you walk through its doors. Owned by Winfield resident Jill Card and her husband Richard, the Downers Grove location will be the store's third location since 2009, following the flagship Wheaton store and the St. Charles location that opened in 2010. As for the shop's name, its origin dates back 20 years ago when Jill asked her eventual husband what she should wear on their first date. Lucky Downers Grove! I am so glad Jeans and a Cute Top Shop has opened their 3rd store in DG. I would travel about 25 miles to regularly shop at the store in Wheaton and now I am only 15 minutes away. This is a store that you can find something new everytime you shop.
