Attempted Santa Theft, Public Drinking, Drug Possession: Police Blotter

Downers Grove police reports, Nov. 30 - Dec. 5.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 5 Christopher James Bussman, 42, of the 600 block of 65th Street in Westmont, was arrested around 12:57 p.m. in the 4900 block of Linscott Avenue, police said. An officer was called to the Prince Pond area after reports of a man yelling at passing cars, according to reports. Upon the officer's arrival, he saw Bussman sitting on a bench with a cold, partially full 24-ounce can of Icehouse beer next to him on the ground, police said. Bussman was arrested and charged with drinking on public property. Officers responded to a home in the 4500 block of Main Street around 8:35 p.m. for a report of criminal trespass, according to reports. Police Blotter: $4,500 in Copper Wire Stolen from Clinic, Car Burglaries

Downers Grove police reports, Aug. 2-7

TUESDAY, AUG. 7 Someone broke the driver’s side mirror on a car parked on the 400 block of Prairie Avenue between 5:40 a.m. and 8 a.m., Downers Grove police said. The mirror was worth about $250. SUNDAY, AUG. 5 James Langone, 57, of the 900 block of Addison, was arrested around 2:31 p.m. at Fry’s Electronics, 3300 Finley Rd., police said. Store security told police Langone took a Blu-ray movie out of its case and put it in his jeans’ back right pocket. Langone went into the bathroom, and when he came out police said he opened another Blu-ray case and put the disc into the same pocket. He left the store without paying for the movies before store security stopped him, police said. Officers said Langone repeatedly yelled, “What’s the problem…
