I'm excited to be a contributor for Downers Grove Patch and being a part of community journalism again.

I started my career in journalism as a beat reporter for the villages of Lisle and Downers Grove for Reporter-Progress Newspapers. I also spent time as a West Chicago beat reporter and news editor for Press-Republican Newspapers in St. Charles.

I spent the past five years as an editor for <i>American Nurseryman</i> magazine, a 106-year-old publication that covers the horticulture and landscaping industries. I represented the magazine at numerous trade shows and industry events in Chicago; Atlanta; Columbus, OH; Dallas; Louisville, KY; and Washington, D.C.

I&#39;ve lived in Naperville for the past 22 years. My wife, Melissa, and I have been married almost 10 years (we met working at Dairy Queen), and we have two daughters: Charlotte (3) and Savannah (1). I enjoy spending my time with family, reading, rooting for the Chicago Blackhawks and going to NASCAR races.
