ReplyInsert Applause Christine Radogno. You have taken money from the tobacco industry which kills millions of americans yearly but you throw your weight around the tanning industry. Sounds to me that the tanning bed companies need to step up their game and send you a check! You are just another lying politician! What a pathetic scum bag you are!

Defiance of the government? Really????? How about not being taxed to DEATH! How about not being watched and regulated at EVERY turn? How about wanting freedom to make choices and decisions? I bet when we are being put into specialized camps and RULED over, you people will be the first to complain. Frankly, I think you get what you deserve! Sell your guns, get your burqas ironed and pressed, throw away all your sugary drinks, purge any thoughts that are not politically correct or that upset others, abolish heterosexual marriage, join a union, and sign over ALL your rights and prepare to become a droid! LOL Dark money and political are laughable. What other things could we squeeze into Dark money and political as their true purposes???? HMMMMM... let's think about what wonderful things could fall so neatly into these categories you claim the Tea Party espouse. Anyone, anyone?

JD, can you tell us how many for and against we're at the Sandack gay marriage protest? I bet if you actually knew the real numbers, you would realize that Sandack clearly is NOT listening to his constituents! It is laughable to think that these politicians are changing their minds based on their electorate. If you truly believe that, thn I have some land I'd like to sell you.

ReplyCan someone tell me what the bank parcel is zoned for and what does the comprehensive plan call for in that spot? I agree with Kent, seniors want to be within walking distance. It is only logical! What better residents could you have in a downtown area? Certainly would't want or need anymore condos! I welcome any thing, within reason, into that empty weedy spot. What an eye sore for the community/downtown. Let's get going and fill it. We have a willing developer!!!

ReplyI agree that there needs to be more professionalism and less immaturity within the board. However, instead of picking solely on Boyle, why not address the antics of Beckman in the past? You can't just single out Boyle. Even though it appears the trouble started with Boyle, you have to address the other personalities in the room. In life we encounter people who may or may not like us for some reason beyond our comprehension. They all have had a hand in the problems. I think that Beckman's behavior regarding DGCA tells us what she is capable of. Let's not paint her as the angel of the board. Most likely, this whole thing was fabricated behind the scenes. Let's just hope that the adults in this group can work together for the better of our kids. Work through the problems and address the hurts and grievances. Then and only then will our kids truly get the best results.

ReplyI can appreciate ones mental growth and change of attitude from that growth. What I have a problem with is someone who changes their stance for reasons other than truly believing in what they tell us. Take Senator Rob Portman who was against gay marriage but upon discovering his son is gay, he decides to support it. Things like this tell me that our elected politicians vote according to their own lives and not ours. I am happy that this senator is supportive of his gay son. However, if the people who elected him did so because of his stance against same sex marriage, then he is wrong! Frankly, I find it interesting that everyone preaches tolerance, freedom and love when it comes to gay rights. Sadly, those same preachings don't spill over to those who want to be christian without persecution(tolerance, love and freedom), those who want to carry a gun without being regulated to death(freedom), etc. I know some of you are going to say that owning a gun should be regulated to death because it can affect other people's lives. I will accept that argument. Having said that, no amount of regulation will stop bad people from doing bad things. You can use the city of Chicago as my point on that one. Seventeen injured and two dead from gun shots in the city last night. Honestly, I don't care who wants to marry whom. If they want to be miserable like the majority of married couples, allow them to join the ranks. Stop shoving it in our faces at every possible angle.

ReplyThe statement is very nice. However, I would like to know why Rep. Sandack was initially against it if he really believes in his statement? I have no problem with his view, just his new flip on it. Maybe an explanation with complete honestly would help.

Fred, when I talk taxes, I like to include ALL taxes. Even the taxes that our municipalities call utility "fees". If you take the time and add them all up, you might be surprised to hear a choking sound. We just received our property tax bill. It went up $200. My salary didn't go up $200. I would love to believe that taxes are lowest in 30 years but the reality of my life proves otherwise! I will base my points on my actual daily activities. Now if you don't mind, I have to finish writing my check for my water run off and then head to yoga. I hear yoga is being considered a religion. Praise to my yoga mat! Crazy world!!!!
