<b>Susan Dinkelspiel Cerny</b>, has made her home in Berkeley since her graduation in Art and Architectural History from the University of California. She is past president of the Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association, and former chair of Berkeley’s Landmark Preservation Commission. In addition to numerous articles on Berkeley and the Bay Area’s architectural history for various publications, she is the author of <i>An Architectural Guidebook to San Francisco and the Bay Area</i>, Gibbs Smith, 2007; <i>Berkeley Landmarks</i>, Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association, 1994 &amp; 2002; contributing author of <i>Picturing Berkeley: A Postcard History</i>, Gibbs Smith, 2004;<i> </i>Robert Winter’s<i> The Simpler Way of Life, University of California Press, 1997</i>.  She received an award for her ten-week series <i>Places</i>  for the <i>San Francisco Chronicle’s</i> Newspapers in Education program (2003-4).
