Joseph became the first baby born in 2014 at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital when he made his grand entrance at 7:33 a.m. Wednesday. Joseph, who weighs 7 pounds, 8 ounces and measures 21 inches long, was born to Jessica Larsen and Joseph Dempsey of Addison, Il.
Both baby and mother are resting comfortably at Good Samaritan Hospital.
