Church Wall Defaced in Downers Grove: Police Blotter

Criminal Defacement

Someone used blue spray paint to deface the southeast exterior wall of First Congregational Church on the 1000 block of Curtiss. The incident occurred sometime between noon Aug. 9 and 8 a.m. Aug. 10, according to a police report. The word "Lies" was written in all capital letters and 18 in. in height. There are no leads or suspects at this time. The report is for insurance purposes only, police said.

THURSDAY, AUG. 8

Smear Campaign

Someone placed chocolate bars on the trunk of a woman's car, eventually melting and creating a mess on the trunk hood and down the back of the car. The incident occurred sometime between 1 p.m. Aug. 6 and 12:45 a.m. Aug. 8 on the 2000 block of Prentiss Drive, according to police. The woman said she does not have any problems with any of the neighbors and thinks it's just teenagers pulling a prank.
