Downers Grove Woman Charged in Aurora Prostitution Sting

Tina Rene Chavez, 39, was one of five individuals arrested Thursday after a sting at an Aurora hotel.

A Downers Grove woman and four others were charged with prostitution Thursday following a sting at an Aurora hotel, according to media reports.

The arrests stemmed from an investigation by the Aurora Police Special Operations Group, which was targeting several Internet sites known for advertising sexual services and inviting solicitors to a local hotel, according to CBS Chicago.

When the five arrestees arrived at the hotel, they allegedly offered a male officer sexual favors in exchange for money, according to a Sun-Times Media report.

Three women and two men were arrested and charged with prostitution:

  • Tina Rene Chavez, 39, of the 3100 block of Finley Road in Downers Grove;
  • Antonio Chavez, 26, of the 1100 block of East Fifth Street in Sandwich;
  • Pedro Luis Martinez, 24, of the 3000 block of South Keeler Avenue in Chicago;
  • Wendy M. Negron, 37, of the 800 block of North Swift Road in Addison;
  • Liu Qing, 26, of the 300 block of Cermak Road in Chicago.
All five individuals are scheduled to appear at the DuPage County Courthouse in Wheaton at 9 a.m. July 23, according to CBS Chicago.
