Woman Accused of Firing Gun into Downers Grove Man's Vehicle

Jenniece Jones, 20, of Indianapolis, IN, was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm after she allegedly fired two shots at her former boyfriend's car during a domestic dispute.

An Indiana woman was arrested by Downers Grove police on Monday after she allegedly fired two shots from a handgun at her former boyfriend's vehicle.

Jenniece Jones, 20, of the 500 block of Central Court in Indianapolis, was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm after she was stopped at 63rd Street and Fairview Avenue, police said.

The victim reportedly told police that Jones, his former girlfriend, had gone to his home in the 6300 block of Wells Street to retrieve some of her belongings. Jones allegedly asked to get back together with the victim, but he said no and returned her property, police said.

According to the victim, Jones then went outside and used a key to scratch the side of his vehicle. An argument ensued and Jones was asked to leave, police said.

Jones then went to her vehicle to retrieve her purse, pulled out a handgun and fire a shot at the victim's front passenger tire, police said. She then fired a second shot, which struck the center lower windshield of the vehicle, according to reports.

No one was injured, and Jones left the scene. She was taken into custody about 20 minutes later in a nearby parking lot, police said.

Jones remained in custody Thursday on $250,000 bail.
