Man Charged With Public Indecency in Downers Grove: Police Blotter

The man was interviewed about other recent public indecency calls in the village, but he was only charged with one count, according to police.

A 43-year-old Addison man is headed to court after Downers Grove residents saw him masturbating in his car, police said.

Elias Robles, of the 300 block of West Winthrop Avenue, was charged with public indecency. The incident occurred at about 7 a.m. May 31 on the 5300 block of Benton Avenue.

The arrest comes after two other reported incidents in May of a man masturbating in his car. The sightings all occurred in the same area of the village east of downtown.

Although Robles was interviewed about other recent public indecency calls in the village, he was only charged with one count, according to a police report.
He was released with a July 3 court date at the DuPage County Court in Wheaton, the report said.

The first public indecency incident in Downers Grove last month occurred at 11:46 a.m. May 6 near 59th Street and Grand Avenue. The second occurred at 11:45 a.m. May 22 on Hill Street near Fairview Avenue.

Police Blotter information is provided by local law enforcement agencies. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions taken on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. If you or a family member are charged or cited and the case is subsequently adjudicated, we encourage you to notify the editor. We will verify and report the outcome.
