Police Cursed in Spray Paint, Spare Tires Stolen: Police Blotter

SUNDAY, JULY 14

Lawn Lantern Damaged  

Someone damaged a $300 lawn lantern on the 900 block of Oxford Street. The incident occurred sometime between 9 a.m. and 8:45 p.m., according to a police report. It appeared that the lantern was pushed or pulled down based on the handprints on the post, which was broken at the base. "(The resident) stated she has no enemies and has no idea why she would be someone's intentional target," the police report for this incident said. There was no other evidence or leads at the time of the report.

Someone Spray Paints "F--- the Police"

A business owner reported that someone damaged his building on the 4200 block of Belle Aire Lane. The incident occurred sometime between 10:03 a.m. June 25 and 9 a.m. July 14. The front door was broken and one of the garage door's wooden panels was kicked in, according to a police report. "The complainant advised once inside the building the offender(s) spray painted the following on the walls: 'f--- the police, b-tches and diy,'" the report said. "He advised they used a can of orange spray paint that he had inside the business." The total damage was estimated at $200. There were no leads or suspects.

FRIDAY, JULY 12

Spare Tires Stolen

Someone stole two spare tires from two rental passenger vans on the 7400 block of Lemont Road. The incident occurred sometime between 8:30 p.m. July 11 and 7:05 a.m. July 12. The tires were attached to the rear undercarriage of the vans, which were parked in a lot on the south side of the property. There were no signs of damage or forced entry to the vehicles.

THURSDAY, JULY 11

Car Scratched

Someone damaged the paint on a white 1998 Dodge (model unknown) while it was parked in a driveway on the 1200 block of Jefferson Avenue. The incident occurred sometime between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., according to a police report. There were multiple scratches into the paint on the lower portion of the passenger side rear quarter panel, for a total of $50 in estimated damages.
